Kelly MacDonald is strong as Helen Radley
Plot

Set in Whitby, England, where Dracula is said to have fled. It follows an ordinary family with a dark secret: they’re vampires. Despite their natural lust they choose not to drink blood, but their truth is revealed one day.
Casting is a big mistake
Bo Bragason is also strong as Clara Radley. Damian Lewis and the rest of the cast are very vague and don’t really have any presence. The story is about a family of vampires who no longer drink human blood. The problem is that there is no story. It’s like a few days in the life of a boring vampire family.
Nothing happens and no feeling is communicated to us
We wander from scene to scene with nothing really happening. There are constant scenes of people staring at each other or staring at the wall. People stand or sit doing nothing for a second. Except for Helen and Clara, no one has any personality at all. One of the worst characters I’ve seen in a long time is pseudo-hippie-vampire-in-chief Will, also played by Damian Lewis.
Videography and direction
The character doesn’t come together very well and Lewis’s sophomore acting skills can’t do anything with the character. So we mostly got poor actors, bad acting, poor script and beginners. Then we are told that it is not only a horror but also a comedy. I just finished watching it and I honestly don’t remember anything remotely funny that happened in the entire show. It’s funny how bad the movie is, maybe that’s what they mean?
It makes no sense
In the end, the film makes no sense. It’s nothing but fly on the wall boring middle class vampires going about their boring daily routines. It’s really exhausting to watch and when the end finally comes and the long, pointless story ends, I’m like "Finally, thank god it’s over" I give it a 2 and I think that’s generous.
